 SAGINAW CHAPTER REPORT

Saginaw, MIbrenda writes "The Saginaw Chapter has been very fortunate this year. Holding our meetings at Covenant – Harrison Campus has been wonderful. Our average attendance has been about 12 all year. We have been holding our meetings on the 1st & 3rd Saturdays of each month from 11:00 to 2:30.  We have had lunch at each meeting thanks to members, catering or the cafeteria. These have been regular up until summer months & outings have begun for several different people.

We have changed our official business meeting to the 3rd Saturday of the month, as the bank statement does not come early. This way the treasurer’s report is up to date. Unofficially, business and pleasure are combined on the first Saturday. We look forward to getting back on schedule in October.

Recently, we were able to present a check for $500 to Covenant Foundation earmarked for the Pediatric Dept.  The formal presentation of Jim, Mary Ellen, Lisa and Ernestine giving the check to the head of the Foundation and the Pediatric Department took place in mid-August. A picture was presented to us and we will be featured in an upcoming issue of “The Covenant Connection.”

We are beginning to line up speakers for our upcoming meetings. Members have wanted to know more about Pulmonary Hypertension & a nurse from INFUSION Pharmaceuticals will address this. We are planning to get a physical therapist to do simple exercises that everyone can participate in, and many more things in the offing.

We will be holding the Fall MI Area Council Meeting. Because this is so close to National Convention, we would like to take into consideration moving to November or December and placing a holiday theme to the Council Meeting. This would be something new. N.A.P.H. has never celebrated a holiday together. What do you think???

Saginaw has also been fortunate in getting new people to run for office. Congratulations to the following:

President…… Ernestine Krawczyk
1st V.P. ….Kathy Walton             2nd V.P. Judy Sleamon
Recording Sec…Edwina Murday    Corr. Sec. Lisa Gehringer
Treasurer… Lorraine Gehringer    Sgt. at Arms...Paul Shijka

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Gazella O’Malley… John Schmidt… Mary Ellen Krawczyk
Jim Gehringer… Bernie Gilchrest.

We have another member attending convention for the first time….. Bernie Gilchrest.  Welcome.

We have been getting basics worked out for the 50th National Convention in Frankenmuth, MI. See the special ad giving a bit of advance flavor being put into this extravaganza. We hope everyone can make it. August 12–13–14, 2008.   This is an extraordinary landmark and something we can ALL BE PROUD OF.
SEE YOU THERE!
