Mid Michigan Chaptermal writes "When I moved here I was atracted by the rent control in government housing. Never considered the
door width of the doors until I delveloped gait ataxcia and had to use a seat type walker. This happened
2 months after I moved here. suddenly I was so gratful I lived here, adjusting to no balnce was bad'
enough but at least I could move freely through the rooms of Friendship Manor near Frandor off
Michigan, Lansing.Mi.
It just goes to show one never knows when one is going to need that kind of accesibility and that it is
important for all not just the elderly. Also thank God for Spectran our special mobility local lift
eqipped bus service, door to door. I was already using it because of photophobia which prevents me from driveing, but needed even more once I lost my balance. My sister who is a counselor, once told me we
are all TEP meaning today we may be able bodied, but that can dfisappear tomorrow. Now I truly understand what that means. TEP means temporarily enemabled persons. Thank you for your time.
I din,t know about the Community Chioce Act until I read the article here I will contact Debbie Stabalow immediately on her stand on this bill. Thanks for a great site. sincerely mal"

 MID-MICHIGAN CHAPTER

Mid Michigan Chapterbrenda writes "In the past year, we have gained a few new members and lost a few also.  One of our biggest losses was Susan Knapp, a life member; she is the one responsible for a lot of our goodie bags and contents.  Though she was no longer a member of our chapter, we still feel her loss very deeply.  Many of our members have been ill this year.

We sent Ken Gillette as a delegate to the State Convention in April.

We did 100 mailings for a bake less bake sale as a fund raiser, and the only thing we received was a request for more information about NAPH.

We will gain four new members in December, when we collect the new dues for the chapter.

Several members of NAPH are helping with the upcoming wedding of one of our members, Rudy Finney to Nikki Medford, which is October 7th, 2007 in Clare, Michigan.  We will be passing around a card, so everyone can wish them many years of happiness.

Hopefully with the addition of new members for the upcoming year, we will make an impact on the attitude of NAPH, and make it the beginning of a NEW NAPH to rejuvenate what NAPH once represented.

Submitted with respect,
Recording/Corresponding Secretary
Vickie Marcoux"
